Last year we had a number of new customers get in touch with us, asking if we could help move their existing @btconnect.com e-mail accounts away from BT.
BT had decided to change their e-mail system and this meant that people were unable to access the messages which had previously been set up in Outlook or their other e-mail programs. Instead, customers were telling us that BT were making them access the e-mails via the webmail system or via the mobile app. This caused the customers a lot of issues, especially if those BT Connect accounts were set up in finance systems as invoices could no longer be sent out automatically.
We started moving customers over, setting up their own dedicated @their-business-name.co.uk type addresses. This meant that not only would their e-mails start working as normal again, they could also move them easily to another provider in the future if they wanted to - they were no longer tied to BT.
We have just, as of writing this, moved another customer over but it appears that BT have changed their system again and made it even more difficult to migrate away from them. We have spent the morning working our way around and managed to find a way to copy all of the e-mails from the @btconnect.com account and move them away.
If you are having a similar issue and would like help migrating your e-mails away from BT, please get in touch.
